1️⃣Maximizing AI: What's Your Play?
Artificial intelligence took center stage at the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland. Many of the conversations, even more compared to a year ago, are about the impact of AI on work, on jobs, and on companies.
This got me thinking. Everyone is talking about AI, building with AI, building for AI, and whatnot in order to realize the oft-repeated “save time and money”. But where will all the gains accrue when your AI projects finally take shape?
Imagine you could snap your fingers and realize the benefits of AI tomorrow. What would your organization do with those benefits and how would your organization adapt to the post-realization era? It might seem like a thought experiment, but it’s an important question for founders and product leaders to ask themselves.
Here are 10 questions you need to ask yourself:
What will you do with all the time and money saved by AI automation? 🔄
How will your organization balance the efficiency gains from AI with the potential displacement of human workers?🤖
In the pursuit of efficiency, how will you ensure that your AI systems are ethically sound and aligned with your organization’s values?🌐
How will your customers benefit from the AI-driven improvements in your products or services?🛍️
In a world where AI is becoming ubiquitous, how will your organization stay ahead of the competition in terms of innovation and differentiation?🚀
As AI technologies face increasing scrutiny, how is your organization preparing for potential regulatory changes and challenges?🔍
In the interconnected world of AI, have you explored opportunities for cross-industry collaborations to address shared challenges?🤝
How will your organization empower users to understand and control the impact of AI on their experiences?🤔
Are there initiatives in place to educate users about the benefits and limitations of AI within your products or services?📚
What measures are in place to comply with evolving data protection regulations and to build and maintain customer trust?🔐
Feel free to write to me with your answers and views on these questions and to discuss how AI infusion can benefit your organization.
By confronting these tough questions, founders and product leaders can navigate the AI landscape with foresight, ensuring that the benefits accrued are not only maximized but also aligned with broader ethical, societal, and strategic considerations.
2️⃣Free Workshop: Decoding Ban on UI/UX Dark Patterns
In several editions of Siam Sixers, I’ve written extensively about the menace of dark patterns in UI/UX design that some product companies use to deceive or manipulate consumer choice and how the Indian Government recently banned 13 such UI/UX dark pattern techniques.

In this workshop, we explore the relevance of ethical design in the digital age and actionable steps to avoid legal compliance issues. This event is brought to you by India Behavioural Economics Network, ProdWrks, and Beyond Nudge!

3️⃣Video: How Chips That Power AI Work?
Artificial Intelligence saw a breakthrough year in 2023 thanks to GenAI. But behind the scenes, there have been equally tremendous advancements going on in silicon chip manufacturing to power GenAI processing.
This video explains how big tech companies Microsoft, Amazon, and Google are all designing their own chips to meet their own GenAI requirements, and what the future of the industry looks like.
4️⃣Podcast: What is End User Computing?
Simply put, end-user computing (EUC) is an umbrella term for a combination of technologies, policies, and processes provided directly to individuals or "end users" in an organization to get work done. It can be anything - a browser, mobile apps, devices, or collaboration tools.
In this podcast, Ruben Spruijt, considered the EUC king talks about why the end-user experience needs to be more talked about, shadow IT resources in enterprises, how virtual desktops may be coming back, and AI in end-user computing.
